Oathlands is playable and running on a live server — but it is pre-alpha, and the test group is small on purpose. Apply below and every application is read by hand.

Please read this first
This is pre-alpha. It is not a finished game.
It will crash. Your character, level and gear will be wiped without warning. Large parts of the world are empty or unfinished, and only one ability actually does anything yet.
If you want to play a game, this is not that — come back in a few months. If you want to help build one and you do not mind rough edges, you are exactly who we are looking for.

If you are approved, your key arrives by email. You type it into the launcher once and never again — it is remembered on your PC through every patch.

If you are approved your key arrives by email — check your spam folder, because the first message from a new address usually lands there.

Approved testers
Download the launcher
The launcher downloads the game, keeps it patched, and puts you on the server. It will ask for your key the first time, and never again.
Windows 10 or 11, 64-bit · needs a DirectX 12 graphics card · about 80 MB, and roughly 2.5 GB for the game itself.
Read this before you run it
Windows will warn you — that is normal
The launcher is brand new and not yet signed with a paid certificate, so Windows treats it like any program it has never seen before. Every tester sees some version of this. It is not a virus warning — it says unrecognised, meaning Windows simply does not know us yet.
- If your browser flags the download (“isn't commonly downloaded”): click the … or ⌄ next to the warning and choose Keep (Edge may need “Keep anyway”).
- When you run it, a blue box may say “Windows protected your PC”: click More info, then Run anyway.
You only have to do this once. If a warning ever names an actual virus or trojan instead, stop and tell us on Discord — that is not one of ours.
About your key
One key, one PC, one time
- You type it once, ever.
- It survives patches and updates.
- It is tied to the PC you use it on.
- Changed computers? Ask on Discord and we will free it up.
- Please do not share it — it only works on one machine.
What to try
What helps most right now
- Get two or more people in the world at once.
- Talk in chat — say, party and guild.
- Fight the cave spiders together.
- Wreck the HUD on purpose, then press F11 to reset it.
- Tell us your ping and whether it felt playable.

- What you were doing in the ten seconds before it happened.
- A screenshot.
- Whether it happened once or every time.
“It crashed when I opened the spellbook mid-fight” is worth ten of “it’s buggy”. We can chase the first one.
